A l'époque de Brejnev, Andrei Filipov était le plus grand chef d'orchestre d'Union soviétique et dirigeait le célèbre Orchestre du Bolchoï. Mais après avoir refusé de se séparer de ses musiciens juifs, dont son meilleur ami Sacha, il a été licencié en pleine gloire. Trente ans plus tard, il travaille toujours au Bolchoï mais… comme homme de ménage.Un soir, alors qu'Andrei est resté très tard pour astiquer le bureau du maître des lieux, il tombe sur un fax adressé au directeur : il s'agit d'une invitation du Théâtre du Châtelet conviant l'orchestre du Bolchoï à venir jouer à Paris… Soudain, Andrei a une idée de folie : pourquoi ne pas réunir ses anciens copains musiciens, qui vivent aujourd'hui de petits boulots, et les emmener à Paris, en les faisant passer pour le Bolchoï ? L'occasion tant attendue de prendre enfin leur revanche…
(At the time of Brezhnev, Andrei Filipov was the most celebrated conductor in the USSR. But when he refused to part company with his Jewish musicians, he was dismissed without ceremony. Thirty years on, Andrei is once again employed by the Bolshoi Orchestra, but as a cleaner. One evening, whilst busily engaged in his chores, he comes across a fax addressed to his employer. It is an invitation to the orchestra to perform at the Châtelet Theatre in Paris. Andrei suddenly has an idea. Why not round up his old friends, all former musicians who are now employed in menial jobs, and pass themselves off as the Bolshoi Orchestra…?)

Her early career was guided by Atlanta music legend Sonny Limbo. He connected Sami Jo with Rick Hall in Muscle Shoals, AL, where she recorded two singles that failed to chart. Sonny then got her a deal with MGM South, which led to Sami Jo's first hit, "Tell Me A Lie". In addition to reaching #21 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart, it also reached #14 on Billboard's Easy Listening chart. Her follow-up single, "It Could Have Been Me", also did well, reaching #46 pop and #31 easy listening. Her first album, also entitled It Could Have Been Me, peaked at #33 on the U.S. Country Albums chart.

Television was one of the mainstay acts that emerged from the CBGB scene in New York City. This album features the elliptical lyrics of Tom Verlaine set against the sparse yet complex guitar work of Verlaine and Richard Lloyd The introspective mood of the album, and the careful, instrumental virtuosity of the band were arguably one of the first manifestations of the post punk movement. It was also ranked at #128 in the Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, while Pitchfork Media named the album the 3rd best of the 1970s.
Simply a must heard album in excellent quality!
