Modelling of Soil Behaviour with Hypoplasticity: Another Approach to Soil Constitutive Modelling

Modelling of Soil Behaviour with Hypoplasticity: Another Approach to Soil Constitutive Modelling by David Mašín
English | PDF,EPUB | 2019 | 198 Pages | ISBN : 3030039757 | 32.26 MB

This book explains the hypoplastic modelling framework. It is divided into two parts, the first of which is devoted to principles of hypoplasticity. First, the basic features of soil’s mechanical behaviour are introduced, namely non-linearity and asymptotic properties. These features are then incorporated into simple one-dimensional hypoplastic equations for compression and shear. Subsequently, a hypoplastic equivalent of the Modified Cam-Clay model is developed in 2D space using stress and strain invariants to demonstrate key similarities and differences between elasto-plastic and hypoplastic formulations.

Principles of Soil Physics (Books in Soils, Plants, and the Environment) by Rattan Lal and Manoj K. Shukla
English | 2004-05-28 | ISBN: 0824753240 | 528 pages | PDF | 15,2 MB

Principles of Soil Physics examines the impact of the physical, mechanical, and hydrological properties and processes of soil on agricultural production, the environment, and sustainable use of natural resources. The text incorporates valuable assessment methods, graphs, problem sets, and tables from recent studies performed around the globe and offers an abundance of tables, photographs, and easy-to-follow equations in every chapter.

A Geoinformatics Approach to Water Erosion: Soil Loss and Beyond by Tal Svoray
English | EPUB | 2022 | 364 Pages | ISBN : 3030915352 | 103.6 MB

Degradation of agricultural catchments due to water erosion is a major environmental threat at the global scale, with long-lasting destructive consequences valued at tens of billions of dollars per annum. Eroded soils lead to reduced crop yields and deprived agroecosystem’s functioning through, for example, decreased water holding capacity, poor aeration, scarce microbial activity, and loose soil structure.
