Probability and Statistical Models: Foundations for Problems in Reliability and Financial Mathematics by Arjun K. Gupta
English | PDF | 2010 | 270 Pages | ISBN : 0817649867 | 1.7 MB

With an emphasis on models and techniques, this textbook introduces many of the fundamental concepts of stochastic modeling that are now a vital component of almost every scientific investigation. These models form the basis of well-known parametric lifetime distributions such as exponential, Weibull, and gamma distributions, as well as change-point and mixture models.

A First Course in Statistics for Signal Analysis by Wojbor A. Woyczynski
English | PDF(True) | 2011 | 271 Pages | ISBN : 0817681000 | 4.9 MB

'A First Course in Statistics for Signal Analysis' is a small, dense, and inexpensive book that covers exactly what the title says: statistics for signal analysis. The book has much to recommend it. The author clearly understands the topics presented. The topics are covered in a rigorous manner, but not so rigorous as to be ostentatious. The sequence of topics is clearly targeted at the spectral properties of Gaussian stationary signals. Any student studying traditional communications and signal processing would benefit from an understanding of these topics…In summary, [the work] has much in its favor…This book is most appropriate for a graduate class in signal analysis. It also could be used as a secondary text in a statistics, signal processing, or communications class.

Organic Reaction Mechanisms Selected Problems and Solutions
English | 2023 | ISBN: 9781003390961 | 504 Pages | True PDF | 32.45 MB

This fully updated new edition presents organic reaction mechanism questions, carefully selected from the primary chemical literature, to understand how reactants are transformed into products. The author explains step-by-step solutions to all problems with appropriate contextual comments explaining the rationale and reasoning underlying each step, and identifying the underlying principles involved in each question. In the process the reader gains a better understanding of the fundamental principles of organic chemistry and how to become proficient in using the Lewis acid/Lewis base concept to complete organic reactions without resorting to memorization.

1000 Solved Problems in Modern Physics by Ahmad A. Kamal
English | PDF (True) | 2010 | 643 Pages | ISBN : 3642043321 | 7.8 MB

This book is targeted mainly to the undergraduate students of USA, UK and other European countries, and the M. Sc of Asian countries, but will be found useful for the graduate students, Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Teachers and Tutors. This is a by-product of lectures given at the Osmania University, University of Ottawa and University of Tebrez over several years, and is intended to assist the students in their assignments and examinations. The book covers a wide spectrum of disciplines in Modern Physics, and is mainly based on the actual examination papers of UK and the Indian Universities. The selected problems display a large variety and conform to syllabi which are currently being used in various countries. The book is divided into ten chapters. Each chapter begins with basic concepts containing a set of formulae and explanatory notes for quick reference, followed by a number of problems and their detailed solutions. The problems are judiciously selected and are arranged section-wise. The so- tions are neither pedantic nor terse. The approach is straight forward and step– step solutions are elaborately provided. More importantly the relevant formulas used for solving the problems can be located in the beginning of each chapter. There are approximately 150 line diagrams for illustration. Basic quantum mechanics, elementary calculus, vector calculus and Algebra are the pre-requisites.
