Cassette Toy Piano is a collection of 5 instruments based on a children toy piano. First of the five included instruments is of course just a raw toy piano recorded on a cassette and while it is a nice and useful sound most toy pianos are very… imperfect in their nature. Because of that the main aim for this collection was to create additional variations of the raw sound to embrace what’s good in it (with things like spring reverb, granular synthesis, etc.) without losing its original (and sometimes) creepy sound.

One of the main improvements of Cassette Piano.02 is a completely new set of samples of an (not so perfect) old upright piano recorded in a ballet training room (in both stereo and mono, with mics at the back of the piano) which resulted in surprisingly organic and tasty sound with all kinds of little imperfections.

Cassette Keys.02, a successor of Cassette Keys.01, wasn't created to replace it, but rather to make things different, bigger, and to make use of the new .02 interface. In fact, both of those instruments complement each other very well.
