After quietly composing and recording throughout the autumn of 2020, GRAMMY® Award-nominated rock band NEEDTOBREATHE have announced the release of their eighth full-length studio album, Into The Mystery. To herald the record’s arrival, the band has shared the album’s first single and title track ‘Into The Mystery’.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the band's debut album, Mystery Jets unleash "Curve Of The Earth", which finds the progressive British group stripping back some of its more shapeshifting tendencies to distill its essence. Considered one of the band's strongest, most personal and most coherent set of tracks to date, Curve Of The Earth displays influences from King Crimson and Pink Floyd and particularly highlights Mystery Jet's evolving songwriting skills.

Wadada Leo Smith comes to the music of Thelonious Monk from a childhood admiration of the artist. As a pre-teen he was already playing trumpet and composing and instinctively knew that Monk's understanding of music and sound would influence his own creativity. Smith believes that the quintessence of Monk can best be found in his solo work. The same can be said for Smith who has produced two previous solo collections including Creative Music—1 (1972) and Solo Music: Ahkreanvention (1979), both on the Kabell label.

cmiVFX has released a QuickStart to Massive Prime Crowd Simulations. Massive is a proven production tool to simulate lifelike actions of crowds. Likely when you have seen a stadium full of cheering fans, it was Massive Prime that animated all those thousands of people. The daunting task of learning is simplified by Domingos Silva. Domingos will walk the viewer through the entire process of completing a crowd simulation. Until now, making MotionBuilder and Massive play nice was tough. Domingos will show the viewer the solution to this difficult pipeline. After the simulation is complete, Domingos continues by taking the mesh and simulation back into Maya and 3DSMax for final render. This lesson covers the process of crowd simulation from concept to render.
