Stamatis

Stamatis Kokotas is a greek folk singer who became very popular during the 60's, 70's and 80's. Kokotas career started with Stavros Xarhakos famous album "A noon" (1966) with two songs and his reputation skyrocketed thereafter with wonderful compositions of Dimos Moutsis, Yiannis Spanos, Giorgos Hadjinasios, Giorgos Zabetas and others. His interpretations remain insurmountable till today and he is classified among the five greater folk voices of all time. The popular greek composer Stamatis Spanoudakis selected 14 beautiful compositions from his vast works, arranged them for big orchestra and chorus, and in April 2006 gave a glorious concert in The Royal Albert Hall of London, entitled "Myths of the east Dreams of the west".
