Formed in 1972 by core-members Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, Steely Dan s run of classic albums between 72 and 1980 formed the backbone for one of the finest catalogues in American musical history. And while the pair released two further studio records together in the early part of the 21st Century, it will forever be their first seven LPs that are remembered as Steely Dan s works of genius. Thus it would delight fans of the group when, in 2009, it was announced that the mighty Dan were to bring their Rent Party Tour to venues in Europe and America, alternating between standard one-date concerts at large venues and multi-night theater shows that featured performances of The Royal Scam, Aja, or Gaucho in their entirety on certain nights.

CLASSIC 1993 STEELY DAN BROADCAST, COMPLETELY REMASTERED Following the tumultuous albeit fruitful recording of their 1980 album Gaucho, and their subsequent breakup soon thereafter, the next decade was somewhat quiet for Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, the gifted musical duo behind Steely Dan. Despite a number of producer credits to their respective names, the only releases that appeared with either as featured artist were two Donald Fagen solo records. The first, The Nightfly, came out to rapturous critical and commercial success, going Platinum on both sides of the Atlantic. Meanwhile, Becker was listed as an as an official member of China Crisis on their 1985 album Flaunt the Imperfection.

Steely Dan enjoyed a highly successful run of albums in the 70s, but by the release of Gaucho in 1980, Donald Fagan and Walter Becker had dissolved the band to concentrate on solo projects. The early 90s saw the duo working together again and after Becker had played on and produced Fagans Kamakiriad they decided to hit the road as Steely Dan again. This two CD set chronicles the critically acclaimed tour with a prized KLLT-FM broadcast of their performance at the Riverport Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, Missouri on September 1, 1993. Two Against Nature — Steely Dan's Grammy winner for Album of the Year! The brilliance of Steely Dan remastered and reissued by Analogue Productions! Recorded to a multi-track analog tape, mixed to 24/96 and mastered and cut by Scott Hull at Masterdisk. Hull won a Grammy for the mastering of the original Two Against Nature LP.

Led by the songwriting and virtuoso musical duo of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, Steely Dan released an extraordinary run of seven albums on ABC Records and MCA Records from 1972 through 1980. Filled with topline musicianship, clever and subversive wordplay, ironic humor, genius arrangements, and pop hits that outshone the Top 40 of its day, their records, which were as sophisticated and cerebral as they were inscrutable, were stylistically diverse, melding their love of jazz with rock, blues, and impeccable pop songcraft.
