Soon after completing work on Watcher of the Skies, Steve Hackett conceived of a series of concerts involving many of the musicians from the Genesis project, to be recorded for a special live release. This two-disc set from a December 1996 performance in Tokyo is the end result…
This official Esoteric Antenna release features Steve Hacketts legendary performance on the German TV show Musikladen, recorded in Bremen on the 8th November 1978. Taped in front of a small studio audience it featured Steve's newly formed band…
Cured is the fifth solo album from former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. Prior to recording Cured, Hackett disbanded the group with which he recorded Spectral Mornings and Defector. Only Hackett's brother, John, and keyboardist Nick Magnus remained from that band. In 2007, Cured was remastered and re-released on Virgin Records. The new edition features updated liner notes and three bonus tracks.
Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music
To Steve Hackett, I followed his career from his beginnings with “Genesis” and his subsequent career as a soloist.
Good to see that the Genesis camp is still good for some unexpected surprises. One of them was released in summer 2005. It is the Spectral Mornings DVD which features concert of Steve’s that was recorded for TV broadcast back in 1978. It is the more surprising because Genesis and its (former) members are not exactly known for releasing archived video material from the 70s. It is therefore hardly surprising that the initiative for this release was not taken by Hackett or his label, but by the TV station that was responsible for the recording. Apparently they remembered that Genesis’ former guitarist still commands a respectable fan base.
