A Tribute To The Pirate Stations (1964-1974) "Golden Years of Pop Music" On April 21, 2010, it will be 50 years since Radio Veronica began broadcasting from a ship just outside the territorial waters. It ushered in the era of the 'pirate station' phenomenon. Radio Caroline, Radio London, Radio Northsea International and many others followed Veronica's initiative. She remains best known for her 1966 signature hit "These boots are made for walking", but also for the very tender ballad "Something stupid" that he sung in duet with her father, and other hits mostly composed by, and sung with, the husky-voiced, country-and-western-inspired singer Lee Hazlewood. This great 1986 best-of album contains all her top hits in their original recordings. This latest album has developed over numerous drop-in sessions at The Trench Studios ,which is owned by producer and musician Paula Riordan. Paula has collaborated with Paul on many of his great recordings. Recordings which include the pop hit “Harmonica Man” from 1994, up to and including the award winning “Hole in the Wall” album from 2014.
