The original album, remastered, is a comprehensive version introducing new mixes and previously unreleased live recordings, including a new mix of the original album on smokey purple vinyl. The 3-CDs feature new stereo by Dweezil Zappa, the 1974 quadraphonic mix, and a newly remastered version of the original album. The Super Deluxe Edition also contains two captivating live performances. The first, recorded on March 9, 1972, at the Paris Theatre in London, captures the group’s unrivaled stage presence during the “Machine Head Tour.” The second, previously unreleased, was recorded in April 1971 at the Montreux Casino in Switzerland. The band planned to record Machine Head there that December, but the venue burned down right before the sessions began, an event immortalized in “Smoke On The Water.” This extraordinary set includes new liner notes by Rolling Stone's Kory Grow, enhanced by contributions from generations of bands influenced by Deep Purple.

WAITING FOR COLUMBUS: SUPER DELUXE EDITION is an 8-CD boxed set that includes a newly remastered version of the original double album on CD and three unreleased concerts. WAITING FOR COLUMBUS: SUPER DELUXE EDITION is the definitive edition of this classic. It includes unreleased live versions of songs that appeared on the original (“Rocket In My Pocket” and “Spanish Moon”), along with several that didn’t, like “Cold, Cold, Cold,” “Rock And Roll Doctor,” “Skin It Back” and a cover of Allen Toussaint’s “On Your Way Down.”

This edition contains not only the original album, but a new 5.1 mix by Steven Wilson which was done in conjunction with Roland Orzabal, as well as all the relevant B-Sides, alternate mixes and around 60 minutes of previously unheard demos and live rehearsals. The set is housed in a shoe box style box (similar to the other 2 releases) with an extensive booklet, with new interviews by Super Deluxe editor Paul Sinclair with the band and other players on the album. Also contains the tour program.

There are also remixes of album tracks by the likes of Bastille, Hot Since 82, Bjorn Yttling and Venetian Snares, who twists the title track into something far from your typical dance remix.
