This split album, which they cut to the chase by calling The Split Thing, brings together two of contemporary Space Rock’s hottest bands. From southern Russia, Vespero have released several albums on the R.A.I.G. label that keep getting better all the time. On The Split Thing they get 3 tracks, each between 7-9 minutes. From Germany, Zone Six have been around since 1998 with several lineups, all including the constant of Dave “Sula Bassana” Schmidt (who also heads up the Sulatron Records label). In the latest version of Zone Six Dave takes the drum seat, with Komet Lulu on bass (from their other current band Electric Moon), plus Rainer Neefe from the Pancakes on guitar and members of Vibravoid. The band contribute a single 24 minute instrumental - Babapapatantramanta, which is dark and doomy and totally spaced out…
Led by the rhythm section of Eclat (Drummer Fabrice Di Mondo and bass-player Bruno Ramousse) and helped by guest musicians such as Mirage's guitarist Stephan Forner, French band from Marseilles recorded its first eponymous album in 2005. It starts in a surprising way with a composition that may evoke Primus. A few seconds later, it is nothing but obvious: Negative Zone stands for one of the best Pink Floyd disciples. Every ingredient that made the formula successful in the early Seventies is here, in the "Atom Heart Mother" period: careful singing and Beatlesque vocal harmonies, mindblowing keyboards parts and unreal atmospheres, subtle guitar parts and refined acoustic sequences… Some sudden high temperatures and more experimental passages are also present.
ASTERIA, RED ZONE PLANET's debut album released as a preview on March 29, 2023 on all digital streaming platforms, is now available on CD in a luxury Digipak package and internal booklet with lyrics and photos. The RZP project is made up of musicians who have always been contaminated by the ROCKETS universe: founding members in 2002 of the first official tribute band, over the years some of them have also been able to boast collaborations with Little Gerard L'Her, Fabrice Quagliotti (who also donated a small but precious gem in a song on this album) and the Rockets themselves. ASTERIA is a concept album of 8 songs of pure SPACE ROCK, characterized by all those sounds, atmospheres and spatial themes that we had the opportunity to appreciate, between the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s, mainly thanks to the legendary silver band. A highly evocative album - but well placed in the present - of an era in which science fiction could be felt in every corner of television and radio.
