This one looks at first like a limited series but initial fan response might make it an ongoing. Issue #0 starts at the end of a story arc--or a storyline--serving as a teaser to the subsequent intro in #1.

is a fictional jungle adventuress in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by writers Carole Seuling and Steve Gerber and penciler George Tuska, she made her first appearance in . This initial series ran five issues (Dec. 1972 - Aug. 1973). After starring in several solo features and backup stories, a blond, alternate-universe version of the character starred in the seven-issue miniseries (April-Oct. 2005), written and drawn by Frank Cho. This Shanna is the result of a genetic experiment and she also has superhuman strength and agility. One member of a scientific expedition that encountered her named her Shanna after the "comic book character." The series was originally scheduled for release under Marvel's "mature readers" MAX imprint, but was reworked, with Cho eliminating the nudity before publication. It ran with a "PSR+" rating through issue #4, and a "Parental Advisory" rating afterward. Thereafter a four-issue sequel miniseries, (Oct. 2007 - Jan. 2008) by writers Justin Gray and James Palmiotti and penciler Khari Evans, featured this same alternate version of Shanna. These latter two alternate-universe versions comprise this post.

The story is the climax of events that began with , which led to the decimation of mutants in the Marvel Universe and the middle chapter of a three-part saga, which continued in a seven-issue crossover with , . Reminiscent of the well-known Japanese manga , the series follows X-Man and title character Cable, who is charged by Wolverine with the protection of the Messiah child, the first mutant born after the M-War, and their time travel adventures. The dangers of the future, highlighted by their pursuit by the mutant known as Lucas Bishop are balanced with the humor of "Cable the Soldier" becoming "Cable the Nanny." Issue #16, released July 1, 2009 immediately follows the conclusion of the Messiah War crossover storyline and starts the new story arc. "Too Late For Tears."

For those who thought was a disappointing teaser to the showdown between Deadpool and Bullseye, then this tie-in story arc's conclusion in more than makes up for it. Fast-paced, funny as hell (just take a look at the cover), and extremely fun to look at, the latest issue of Deadpool delivers in nearly every way. Quite simply, an extended fight scene done right.

After six issues and an Annual, the book went on a temporary hiatus. Now it’s back as "Volume 2", and this time in full color.
