Empire Elite: The Best Of The Best Modern Soundtracks is a 2001 compilation CD where the best songs from soundtrack albums of recent times (in this case, the 1990's) are considered. This was released by Empire via Upfront.

After nearly over a decade and four albums, Beta Radio’s Ben Mabry and Brent Holloman decided to see other people. The duo’s new album Waiting for the End to Come marks the first time they’ve worked with other songwriters. During a writing retreat in Nashville the two friends shared a creative experience that bordered on the spiritual. If 2021’s Year of Love is about searching for language, answers and love – Waiting for the End to Come is about finding it. The songs are grounded in a physicality that’s gorgeously set against the sonic wall of acoustic guitars, strings, and the harmonies for which Beta Radio has become so well known.Over the years, American Songwriter has claimed the band is “evoking serenity” and “emit an incandescent optimism.” The praise is both heady and ethereal, much like the band’s previous albums, many of which are dominated by gorgeous, yet restless musical energy. VHS or Beta is a band from Louisville, Kentucky, that combines elements of French funk and dance-punk. Their self-released debut, Le Funk, was a minor splash in the record charts but it wasn't until 2004's Night on Fire that the band achieved great success. The song of the same title is in the movie Grandma's Boy and on The OC, in addition to Mack Dawg Production's 2006 "Follow Me Around", during Louie Fountain's part. The band's members are guitarist/vocalist Craig Pfunder, bassist Mark Palgy, and drummer Mark Guidry. In 2005 they toured with Duran Duran. As per the official website, VHS or Beta is slated to release a new album, Bring On the Comets, on August 28, 2007.
