The British Museum

This book offers the first in-depth enquiry into the origins of the 135 Indigenous Australian objects acquired by the Royal Navy between 1795 and 1855, and held now by the British Museum. In response to increasing calls for the ‘decolonisation’ of museums, and the restitution of ethnographic collections, the book seeks to return knowledge of the moments, methods, and motivations whereby Indigenous Australian objects were first collected, and sent to Britain.

The British Museum is home to some of the world's finest and broadest collections, ranging from prehistoric times to the present and from ancient and modern cultures around the globe. A series of six DVD's, dealing with six well-known (and perhaps slightly less well-known) masterpieces of the museum. These DVD's provide interesting background information on the history, manufacture, interpretation and discovery of the objects.

Originally shown at the British Museum in 2014, this blockbuster exhibition was a highlight of the decade, following the life of the Vikings from AD 800 – 1500. The exhibition explored how the Vikings influenced our modern world through their relationship to with water and ship-making, the development of language and their expansion from Scandinavia to connecting four continents across the globe.
