The Damned

is the third of Laurell Kaye Hamilton's best-selling series of erotic fantasy novels featuring title character and protagonist Anita Blake, the Vampire Hunter, and also the third such to be adapted into comic book format by Marvel. The previous two novels are , a 12-part limited series and , composed of 3 books, each published by Marvel as 5-part miniseries. is the first book--or act, if you would--of , of which the fifth and concluding issue of this likewise 5-part initial story arc was released last October 27 2010. All of Ms. Hamilton's Marvel publications are posted here by yours truly at Avaxhome. The first four issues of are packed into a single-download RAR archive and all were scanned by erstwhile Minutemen crewmember Kingpin (DangerKing and Rocn-King) so these are expectedly of high quality. The 5th issue is a Minutemen scan.

But these days, there are so many balls in the air, that it’s hard to keep all the different players straight. But when Anita is summoned to see Master Vampire Mister Oliver, even she can’t predict the surprise that awaits her…

The series are known for their strong graphic violence and sexual situations. The main series is known as Faust : Love of the Damned and started publishing in 1988, with new issues being published irregularly, roughly once a year, or sometimes every two years. The original story is unfinished as yet, though David Quinn completed a script in 1996 (when writing the proposal to sell the film) and Tim Vigil has reportedly drawn the final episode.

David Quinn and Tim Vigil's Faust: Love of the Damned mini-series began its sex-and-gore drenched run published by Northstar Comics and eventually became self-published on Quinn and Vigil's own Rebel Studios label, having made it to thirteen issues at the time of this review. The story centers on John Jaspers, a man whose girlfriend is killed and who makes an unwise deal with the devil (aka "M" … short for Mephistopheles, get it?) to gain revenge, becoming a horned demon with razor claws for slicin' and dicin'.
