Festival’ has become a very dark record, probably due to the fact that the inspiration for this album came from a nightmare that mister Oliva once had. The first five tracks of the album are very heavy and with opening track ‘Lies’, ‘Death Rides A Black Horse’, ‘Living On The Edge’ and ‘Afterglow’ you’ve got some real good stuff in your hands. The first quieter moment on the records is to be found in the sixth track ‘Looking For Nothing’, which despite of its simplicity is also a very strong song. The second part of ‘Festival’ is anyway somewhat softer and more varied, because also closing track ‘Now’ is a rather simple, but very effective piano ballad. The best song on the records is for me ‘Winter Haven’, that starts as a melodic ballad type of song, but halfway turns into a really great headbanger.
The December issue of Germany's Rock Hard magazine will feature an exclusive KREATOR live CD which will not be available in stores. "Terror Prevails - Live At Rock Hard Festival" is an outstanding recording of an awesome, smashing live performance the thrash quartet delivered this past May at the Gelsenkirchen Amphitheater in Germany.
