Compared to the likes of Echo & the Bunnymen, the House of Love, and Cocteau Twins, Belgian indie rock quartet Customs formed in Leuven in 2008. Consisting of lead vocalist Kristof Marie Albert Uittebroek, guitarist Jelle Florentinus Mark Janse, bassist Joan Willy August Govaerts, and drummer Ace Mirko Zec, Customs became the first ever artist in residence at their hometown's Het Depot a year later, before releasing their critically acclaimed first single, "Rex." In 2010 they teamed up with producer Alex Callier (Hooverphonic) to record debut album Enter the Characters and followed it up a year later with Harlequins of Love.
