The Golden Dawn

Modern alchemist and member of the famous Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn occult society. He was born April 28, 1816, in London, England, and was educated at Charter-house School (then in London) and Trinity Hall, Cambridge (matriculating 1837; Latin Prize Essay, 1838-39; B.A., 1841). He was ordained as a deacon in the Church of England in 1841 and became a clergyman two years later. After serving in various country parishes, he was appointed vicar of Chacombe, Northamptonshire, in 1873.

For more than 100 years secret magical manuscripts from the Order of the Golden Dawn's inner order of adepts Rosae Rubeae et Aureae have been unseen by most students of the esoteric. This includes the Golden Dawn Alchemical teachings, Secret Teachings of the Zelator Grade and the important Caduceus paper. These have either been gathering dust on some collector's shelves, or have been worked by those who have continued the Order's work.

The Golden Dawn by Israel Regardie is considered by many to be the book that started the modern occult movement. The original Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which started in the late 1800s, borrowed from a wide variety of occult traditions o Kabalah, Tarot, Geomancy, Enochian Magic, Theosophy, Freemasonry, Paganism, Astrology, and many more o and created a unique and viable system of magic that is still being practiced today…
