Abdullah Ibrahim's discography goes back sixty years, and although there are longer periods between his releases than there used to be, Ibrahim has retained all his grit and jubilance. The pianist and composer continues to make gloriously uplifting music steeped in its South African roots, in a style which still carries echoes of his formative overseas influences, Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk.
Sunday Express – Live is the third (double) live album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds, released in April 2007. Simple Minds arranged to release two promotional exclusive free live CDs in April 2007 through the UK newspaper The Sunday Express, making it only the band's second official double live release in its entire career, the first one being Live in the City of Light released in May 1987.
Their recording of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 is the long-awaited sister-recording to Teodor Currentzis’ and musicAeterna’s Beethoven Symphony No. 5 album. Recorded at the Vienna Konzerthaus in August 2018, both albums are the Russia-based musicians’ seminal contribution to the composer’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
Following the release earlier this year of the sequel to JETHRO TULL’s Thick As A Brick, on November 5th 2012 EMI will release a 40th anniversary edition of the original album. In 1972, Ian Anderson wrote and recorded the Jethro Tull Progressive Rock classic album ‘Thick As A Brick’. The lyrics were credited at the time to the fictitious child character, 'Gerald Bostock', whose parents supposedly lied about his age. The record instantly became a number one Billboard Chart album and enjoyed considerable success in many countries of the world.
