Criminal mastermind Fantômas, a man of a thousand faces, is unhappy with Fandor, a journalist whose written a fictive interview of him. He kidnaps Fandor, threatens to kill him, but first goes about ruining the journalist's reputation by committing a sensational crime in Fandor's guise. Hot on the trail is police Commissaire Juve, so Fantômas commits a crime looking like him. Soon, our intrepid heroes, Fandor and Juve, with the help of Fandor's girlfriend Hélène, are on the mastermind's trail, but who's in control?
Le journaliste Fandor invente une interview avec le mystérieux Fantomas. Fantomas s'indigne et enlève le journaliste pour le contraindre à dire la vérité et comme Fandor ne fait pas cela, il se déguise en Fandor et avec son visage il réalise un sensationnel vol de bijoux. Le Commissaire Juve arrête Fandor, croyant qu'il est Fantomas, mais il est à son tour arrêté quand Fantomas fait un autre coup, cette fois-ci déguisé en Juve. Mais les deux sont libérés par Fantomas lui-même. Le célèbre voleur n'a-t-il pas une raison cachée pour son acte de générosité ?

A Greek military hero named Darios visits his uncle in Rhodes in the year 280 BC. Rhodes has just finished constructing an enormous colossus of Apollo to guard its harbor and is planning an alliance with Phoenicia which would be hostile to Greece. Darios flirts with the beautiful Diala, daughter of the statue's mastermind, while becoming involved with a group of rebels headed by Peliocles. These rebels seek to overthrow the tyrannical King Serse as does Serse's evil second-in-command, Thar. The rebels' revolt seems to fail, with Peliocles and his men being captured and forced to provide amusement in the local arena, but an earthquake eventually upsets, not only the Colossus in the harbor, but the balance of power in Rhodes as well.
