Paul McCartney has announced a new vinyl boxset called ‘The 7″ Singles’ – find all the details below.

Paul McCartney is to release a massive seven-inch singles vinyl box set next month. The 7″ Singles contains 80 vinyl seven-inch singles, starting with 1970’s ‘Another Day’ and working through the decades to ‘Women and Wives’ from 2020’s McCartney III.There are 65 recreations of singles/promos using restored artwork from 11 different countries. Additionally 15 singles are included that have never before been issued on seven-inch. These are mostly digital-only releases or songs that were for other reasons not issued on seven-inch.

Three CD set. Although the lushly-arranged, harmony-based late 60s Sunshine Pop sound is most readily associated with America in general and the sun-kissed California region in particular, the reality is that it was always an international phenomenon. What A Groovy Day is a thrilling four-hour celebration of Britain's contribution to the genre, ranging from household names (The New Seekers, Cliff Richard, Petula Clark, The Hollies, Herman's Hermits) to terminally obscure acts like Infinity and The Mellow Yellow, who failed to release anything at the time. Naturally our compilation includes contributions from the two uncrowned kings of the 60s British harmony pop sound, vocalist Tony Rivers (who provides us with our title song) and studio all-rounder John Carter, represented as both performer and songwriter. Other highlights come from posthumously-acclaimed Sunshine Pop maestros Design, a trio of music library recordings by the largely overlooked but hugely talented backroom auteur Barbara Moore and, perhaps most intriguingly of all, the first-ever release of The Sweet's first demo recording, cut when they were still known as Sweetshop.

Rock'n'roll was born in the United States - and 1958 was the year it was exported to the rest of the world. Buddy Holly, who kicks off our first disc with 'Rave On', hit British shores in March with the force of a musical hurricane. Following closely behind him were the like of The Chordettes, Bobby Day, The Everly Brothers and Connie Francis, all included here on this 2 disc compilation.
