The Point! is the soundtrack to a cartoon feature originally aired on ABC TV in 1971. Especially at this stage of his career, Harry Nilsson was uniquely suited for writing and recording children's music, given his sweet melodicism and love of whimsy. As it happens, The Point! worked out better than anyone could have expected, not just because 'Everything's Got 'Em,' 'Me and My Arrow,' 'Think About Your Troubles,' and 'Are You Sleeping?' are songs strong enough to have been on a proper Nilsson record. There's also an intangible quality to this record, a warmth and generosity that really wasn't on any of his other albums, quite possibly because his humor is never sardonic or reliant on in-jokes. It's gentle and loving, as is the music. The tale is fantastical enough to be of interest to children (and the moral is strong enough to reassure them and their parents), but the songs and music are so strong that the album continues to be a source of wonder, even as those children become adults.

Singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson wrote and produced this touching animated tale in 1971, and contributed some classic songs for the soundtrack. The soft Liverpudlian lilt of ex-Beatle Ringo Starr narrates the tale, telling the story of Oblio: A sad outcast from the village of "Point." largely eschewed by the local villagers due to his round head. The adventures of Oblio and his trusty sidekick dog Arrow subsequently take shape in the "Pointless Forest," a wonderland filled with colorful characters and some enchanting secrets.

An animated story of an unusual kingdom in which everything and everybody is pointed - except for a young boy named Oblio. Despite his round head, Oblio has many friends. But an evil count, jealous that Oblio is more popular than his own son, says that without a pointed head, Oblio is an outlaw. Along with his faithful dog Arrow, Oblio is exiled to the Pointless Forest. There, he has many fantastic experiences (including encounters with a 3-headed man, giant bees, a tree in the leaf-selling business, and a good-humored old rock). From his adventures, Oblio learns that it is not at all necessary to be pointed to have a point in life. Music composed and performed by Harry Nilsson ("Me and My Arrow"), who also wrote the story.

For the first time ever on CD, brings together two landmark albums by veteran blues master JOHN HAMMOND - Source Point (1971) and I'm Satisfied (1972). Originally recorded for Columbia, these two albums are the missing links in a career charted by a series of popular recordings for Vanguard and Atlantic. Hammond began his career on the New York coffeehouse scene at the beginning of the first blues renaissance of the early '60s, and these albums confirm his status as one of the finest interpreters of Chicago blues. These recordings show Hammond as a more than capable band leader playing electric as well as acoustic guitar on some of the best Chicago style electric blues ever recorded.

Kowalski works for a car delivery service. He takes delivery of a 1970 Dodge Challenger to take from Colorado to San Francisco, California. Shortly after pickup, he takes a bet to get the car there in less than 15 hours. After a few run-ins with motorcycle cops and highway patrol they start a chase to bring him into custody. Along the way, Kowalski is guided by Supersoul - a blind DJ with a police radio scanner. Throw in lots of chase scenes, gay hitchhikers, a naked woman riding a motorbike, lots of Mopar and you've got a great cult hit from the early 70's.

Even as a serious-minded singer/songwriter, Cat Stevens never stopped being a pop singer at heart, and with Teaser and the Firecat he reconciled his philosophical interests with his pop instincts. Basically, Teaser's songs came in two modes: gentle ballads that usually found Stevens and second guitarist Alun Davies playing delicate lines over sensitive love lyrics, and up-tempo numbers on which the guitarists strummed away and thundering drums played in stop-start rhythms…
