Some things are worth waiting for… "Morning Star" is the first all-new album by The Prisoners since 1986. It features the original line-up of Allan Crockford – bass, vocals Graham Day – vocals, guitar Johnny Symons – drums James Taylor – Hammond organ, vocals After a phenomenally successful series of gigs in December 2022 marking the 40 th anniversary of their debut album 'A Taste of Pink', the band decided to make some new music. The recording was completed in two days, one of them in Studio 2 at Abbey Road. Their preference for recording quickly hasn't changed since they recorded that first album as teenagers, also in two days, in 1982. To celebrate, they play The Roundhouse in London on May 24th, their biggest headline gig Biography The Prisoners formed when they were still at school in Rochester, Kent.

Drawing on twenty-five years of teaching prison college and volunteer classes in eleven Michigan and California prisons, The Prisoners’ World: Portraits of Convicts Caught in the Incarceration Binge strives to make the “prisoners’ voice” come alive for regular college
students.

The book starts off by tracing shifts in social definitions of criminality, and lays out the premises of the U.S. incarceration binge in the 1986 war on drugs laws and subsequent mandatory sentencing and policing.

The Prisoners are one of the great lost bands of the 1980s. The Rochester four-piece fused garage rock, post punk and classic 60s pop melodies to create a distinctive sound. Lead singer and guitarist Graham Day is a song composer of note. They released four albums over a four-year period. This reissue of their 1982 debut album is re-mastered from the original tapes & is joined by nine bonus tracks, 'Baby Come Alive' ('Taste of Pink' session), 'Pretend' (Radio Session), 'There's a Time' (Live at Oakwood), 'Lilac Reflections' (Cecil Road demo), 'Talking Bout My Baby' (Cecil Road demo), & 'Don't Call My Name' (Cecil Road demo), 'Say Your Prayers' (Cecil Road demo), 'Somewhere' (BBC Kent Radio Session), & 'Love Changes' (Live at Quines).
