On a riverbank in Kenya, Africa, a seemingly ordinary giant fig tree and the tiny fig wasp differ in size a billion times over, but neither could exist without the other. Their extraordinary relationship is a marvel of co-evolution, a marriage which has lasted for millennia. It forms the basis of a complex web of dependency that supports entire ecosystems, providing food for thousands of creatures, from elephants, giraffes, and fruit bats, to forest hornbills, monkeys, insects, and fish. Each individual fig is a infinitesimal microcosm of life: a stage set for birth, sex and death, in which the tiny fig wasp players battle against predators and parasites to fulfill their mission, which is to pollinate a tree whose flowers bloom inside its fruit.

This was one of the first Asian horror movies to be widely released on video in the US. Its crazy special effects and wild gore sequences were unique at the time and are still eye-opening today. The story is set in the exotic countryside of far-off Indonesia. A wedding ceremony goes dreadfully wrong and the groom suspects black magic. He seeks out the woman he believes is responsible and she is hurled to her death over a high cliff. She is rescued from the dark jungle by a strange hermit. He tells her that she must seek revenge. They accused her of black magic - now she must learn to use that magic against them and become Queen of Evil.

A great granddaughter of Queen Victoria, Prince Philip's mother married into the Greek royal family, only to see the Greek monarchy overthrown by revolution. Fleeing into exile, she suffered a severe nervous breakdown. She was locked away in mental hospitals and subjected to experimental treatments by psychiatrists, including Sigmund Freud. The trauma had a shattering effect on Princess Alice's marriage and led to a fractured childhood for her only son, Prince Philip. Philip's mother eventually fought her way back from mental illness, and became an unlikely hero of World War II, risking her life to hide a Jewish family from the Nazis. When her son married the future Queen Elizabeth in 1948, Alice turned down the option of a cosy royal life.
