The Repentant Abelard

Young ingenue Joan only a short time removed from her sequestered Nebraska upbringing, has trouble with her airplane motor, force-landing into the midst of bachelor Michel Towne's weekend yachting party. Michel rescues and returns her home to her stern and unsympathetic guardian, thereby incurring the wrath of the persistent Viola Hatfield, who has herself vowed to marry Michel as soon as her divorce is final. Michel, seeing a way out of his dilemma, proposes to Joan so that they may marry and immediatly separate, thereby thwarting the impositions of both Viola and Joan's guardian.
