Keeping The Faith / 28 Stompin' Northern Soul Classics consists of Northern Soul classics from the late '60s until the early '70s, including artists like Jimmy James, The Sapphires, The Showstoppers, and Kim Davis. Many of the tracks on this compilation are the rare grooves that those original fanatics of Northern Soul would have hunted down relentlessly and paid big bucks for had they found them.

I decided to revisit my Northern Soul compilation of all-time greats and expand it to 150 of the absolute best of the best, cream of crop Northern Soul floorfillers, the tracks that most 'soulers' would want to hear and dance to at a party or an all-nighter. Native Philadelphian Jerry Ross’ name can be found on the labels of many of the city’s most significant singles and albums. He may not be as well-known as contemporaries such as Dick Clark, Chubby Checker or Gamble & Huff, but Jerry’s career has been equally important to the evolution of the Philly music scene. This month Ace is delighted to spotlight his classic compositions with the latest entry in our popular Songwriter series. Jerry’s most frequent co-writer was the young Kenny Gamble.
