So rare and highly sought after are many of these tracks by Disco connoisseurs that the original 12's of this album would likely cost you several thousand pounds, if you were lucky enough to find them in the first place.This collection spans the years 1976-'82, with an R&B slant and more song-based material; and is intended to show that there were a few more sides many more to come, of course to one of the last century's biggest musical phenomena.

More than 10 years after the initial release, the album finally sees a gatefold double vinyl release featuring 10 of the best tracks from Vol.2 of the series and released exclusively for Record Store Day 2017. Once again, we’ve delved way deep into our record collections to bring you the choicest picks. We’ve blown off the dust, polished the vinyl grooves and used a bit of elbow grease and studio wizardry to bring you this new selection.

2011 release, a collection of tracks recorded during the '70s heyday of the Philly sound. This series does not derive itself from the PIR label itself, but all the other artists and labels who took the spirit of what writers/producers Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff were doing to make their own music during the period, often using the same musicians. Album opens with Tapestry (lead singer is James Carmichael who became integral to Instant Funk), artists like Barbara Mason, Little Anthony and Major Harris are soul legends while Sister Sledge have had huge pop hits and this first legal issue of Sharon McMahan on CD from the original studio tapes. Expansion.

The Disco Demands series started sometime in the early 2000s - I couldn't give you an exact year because it didn't feel like a big deal, so I never noted it. I simply wanted to put out a compilation of some records I really liked and maybe make a little of the money back I was spending on them. Buy some food and stuff.
There's always been Disco comps around of course but there was rarely anything that strayed too far from the standards.. the same songs kept appearing over and over again, or the comps would feature records you could pick up anywhere for little money. I've never seen the point in that. I gave up judging a record on its value or rarity a long time ago but surely there's more to disco than Exodus, Martin Circus, Mass Production and all those Salsoul, West End and bloody Prelude records. So it was a nice surprise to find that there were other people out there who thought the same way.
