The War Photographer

The outcome of the Second World War was decided on the Eastern Front. Denied a swift victory over Stalin's Red Army, Hitler's Wehrmacht found itself in a bloody, protracted struggle from late 1941 that it was ill-prepared to fight.

The human drama found at controversial political hot-spots ranging from Israel-Palestinian territory checkpoints to the U.S.-Mexican border are captured by acclaimed photographer Larry Towell in Everybody Has a Soul. Towell's photographic prowess has earned him membership in the most prestigious photo agency in the world - Magnum - the only Canadian in the group. His subjects vary from family members captured in candid portraits to struggling communities in the Americas and the Middle East, from locations like Ground Zero in Manhattan to Mennonite farms in Mexico.
