The original A&M album presentation has been remastered, with songs from Joe Walsh, Arnold McCuller, Desmond Child and others sounding better than ever. But to top even that, Barry DeVorzon's influential original film score finally makes its world premiere, nearly 35 years since the film's release (the two score tracks on the original '79 album were uniquely mixed for that release).

Walter Hill's hip, super-stylized action film unfurls in a dystopian near-future, when various gangs control New York City. Each gang sports a unique moniker ('The Warriors,' 'The Baseball Furies,' 'The Rogues'), with a costume underscoring its "theme"; each, in turn, is also responsible for one geographic area. Hill sets up the landscape as a massive, violent playground - replete with bridges, vacant subway tunnels, parks, abandoned buildings and the like, all ripe for exploration and adventure. As the tale opens, the titular Coney Island has traveled to the Bronx to attend a city-wide meeting of all gangs; at that event, however, the psychotic leader of a rival gang, The Rogues (David Patrick Kelly of Dreamscape) assassinates the head of the city's foremost gang, but The Warriors are pegged as culpable. This sends the gang fleeing through the labyrinthine city. With every thug in Manhattan in vicious, homicidal pursuit, they must also overcome all obstacles in their way.

Prominent gang leader Cyrus calls a meeting of New York's gangs to set aside their turf wars and take over the city. At the meeting, a rival leader kills Cyrus, but a Coney Island gang called the Warriors is wrongly blamed for Cyrus' death. Before you know it, the cops and every gangbanger in town is hot on the Warriors' trail.

A four-issue miniseries focusing on Thor's trio of hearty friends, companions and fellow Asgardian warriors. This is one series that's unique and different from the current glut of Thor material (far too many and save for two notable exceptions including this one, mediocre if you ask me), and its writer Bill Willingham of fame and artist Neil Edwards () have meshed together perfectly, and produced a story that's funny, enjoyable and entertaining. Three ultimate good reasons why we read comic books in the first place. Both HQ Minutemen scans.

Excellent historywise, poor soundwise. A welcome '65 live recording by a band famous for including a young Jon Anderson at harmony vocals, though you wouldn't know by hearing only. Typical repertoire for the era, quite competent playing, excellent guitar parts sometimes sounding well ahead of their time…

The year 2009 marks the 30th anniversary of the Paramount Pictures film classic, The Warriors, directed by Walter Hill, who later went on to direct 48 Hours, Last Man Standing, and the acclaimed series Deadwood. Now, for the first time, this movie phenomenon has been adapted into a thrilling graphic novel. The story chronicles one night in the lives of the New York City street gang, the Warriors, and their harrowing journey for survival and redemption. Cyrus, the messianic leader of the city's largest gang, the Riffs, declares a truce and calls a summit in the Bronx with all the rival gangs in attendance. Cyrus's vision is to unify all the gangs into one superorganization, one that the cops will never be able to control. But during the meeting, Cyrus is assassinated, and the murder is pinned on a member of the Warriors. With no time to prove their innocence, the Warriors have no choice: they must run - for their lives and for their honor. But it's a long, long way from the Bronx to Coney Island, especially with an entire city of ruthless thugs swearing vengeance and out for blood.
