Whaling City Sound is pleased to announce the June 7th, 2019 release of Our People, the 12th album as a leader from renowned drummer/composer Gerry Gibbs. With the commercial success of Gibbs’ last four solo records (all of which reached #1 on the international jazz radio Jazz Week charts), Gibbs took some advice from legendary pianist Billy Childs who simply asked Gibbs “Why don’t you make your next album doing whatever you want?” With this ideology in mind, Gibbs recorded an epic, genre-defying masterwork unlike anything the multi-instrumentalist has ever produced before. The result is a magnificent sonic tapestry that pays tribute to our worlds’ many cultures and people over the course of 19 compositions.

Hail to England is Manowar's third album which was released in 1984. The album title is a tribute to the country that the American band members met and formed the band in, and in particular the predominantly British NWOBHM that had emerged in the early 1980s. The album was also reported to have been recorded in its entirety in only six days. The album peaked at No. 13 on the UK charts. The album actually features the flag of the United Kingdom on the front cover, and not the flag of England. In 2017, Rolling Stone ranked Hail to England as 87th on their list of 'The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.'

Unlike anything the visionary musician has ever produced before, this epic, 19-part suite is a sonic masterpiece that pays tribute to the many different cultures that make up our world. Our People sounds like a full orchestra but is, in fact, the work of five gifted multi-instrumentalists - two of which are part of Gerry's versatile Thrasher People Band. The amalgamation of styles and influences create a wonderfully universally significant sound that seems to transcend genre while awing listeners.

Post-rock/instrumental outfit Chemtrail are now members of the Good Fight Music roster and will be releasing their new album, Collider, on the label July 5th. The group also dropped a music video for the effort’s maiden single, “Void Crawler”. The clip was directed by guitarist Mike Burke and director/keyboardist Bobby Bates. An album release show will take place on July 5th at House Of Independents in the band’s hometown of Asbury Park, NJ. Support will be provided by Gatherers, Nathan Gray (Boysetsfire), and Nine Eighteen.
