"Millions of kids in many different countries have grown up with the adventures of Tintin, which is reason enough to make a portrait of Hergé," says director Anders Østergaard. "But Hergé's story, the life of a dreamer whose inner clarity was so much in conflict with the world outside him, was very moving itself. Can't you, especially if you are an artist or other creative type, just remain inside the dream? You can't. Not without paying a high price. It's a sad story, I guess, but the result was Tintin, a visual icon of the 20th century."

Professor Calculus has just written a book called "The Earth is Starving". He appears on television to appeal to the scientists of the world to work towards a solution to the hunger problem. Soon afterwards, he receives a package from a Spanish professor, Antenor Zalamea, which contains a blue orange that can be grown in desert soil. Calculus travels to Spain, but a criminal emir who wants the discovery for himself kidnaps both professors. Tintin and Captain Haddock come to the rescue.

Having bought a model ship, the Unicorn, for a pound off a market stall Tintin is initially puzzled that the sinister Mr. Sakharine should be so eager to buy it from him, resorting to murder and kidnapping Tintin - accompanied by his marvellous dog Snowy - to join him and his gang as they sail to Morocco on an old cargo ship. Sakharine has bribed the crew to revolt against the ship's master, drunken Captain Haddock, but Tintin, Snowy and Haddock escape, arriving in Morocco at the court of a sheikh, who also has a model of the Unicorn.

Tintin and the Golden Fleece (in the original French, Tintin et le Mystère de la Toison d'or, meaning Tintin and the Mystery of the Golden Fleece) is a film first released in France on December 6, 1961. Featuring characters from the The Adventures of Tintin comic book series written and drawn by the Belgian writer-artist Hergé, it was a live-action film with actors made-up to look like the characters and featured an original storyline not based on any of the books.

The Adventures Of Tintin (Les Aventures De Tintin) is a series of comic strips created by the Belgian artist Georges Rémi (1907–1983), who wrote under the pen name of Hergé. The series is one of the most popular European comics of the 20th century, with translations published in more than 80 languages and more than 350 million copies of the books sold to date.

Director Steven Spielberg kicks off the big-screen Tintin trilogy with this computer-animated, motion-capture adaptation of Herge's beloved Tintin comic strip. Produced by Spielberg, Peter Jackson, and Kathleen Kennedy, the first installment in the series finds adventure-seeking Belgian reporter Tintin (voiced by Jamie Bell) and surly Captain Haddock (voiced by Andy Serkis) racing to recover a treasure that was lost at sea four centuries ago. Meanwhile, the malevolent Red Rackham (voiced by Daniel Craig) is determined to beat them to it.
