Trevor Pinnock's set of Mozart symphonies, recorded between 1992 and early 1995, was greeted warmly upon its release in three separate volumes (the last volume typically never made it to U.S. shores as a domestic release) and Universal has seen fit to re-issue it in an 11-CD box as part of its Collectors Edition series. While the general public honed its "historically informed" ear on the pioneering compilation set by Christopher Hogwood and the Academy of Ancient Music in the mid-1980s, Pinnock's later account, the second such to use period instruments, showed just how much more refined and skillful period-instrument playing was to become.

The live show recorded for this DVD showcases Morrissey on his birthday at a homecoming in Manchester, England on May 22, 2004.The set list includes You Are The Quarry selections like 'Irish Blood, English Heart,' 'First Of The Gang To Die' and 'Let Me Kiss You' plus Morrissey classics like 'Every Day Is Like Sunday' and 'Hairdresser On Fire.'
The live performance DVD is directed by Bucky Fukumoto from A-V Club, who also directed Morrissey's three music videos for this album, all of which are included as DVD extras.
Stephen Patrick Morrissey was born May 22, 1959, in Manchester, England; not surprisingly a shy, awkward youth, he became obsessed with music and film as a teenager and devoted his writing talents to penning a New York Dolls fanzine (he was the president of their U.K. fan club), as well as a tribute to James Dean and numerous opinionated letters to the weekly music paper Melody Maker.

Though she launched her solo vocal career relatively late, Elin Manahan Thomas earned the reputation as one of the finest British sopranos of her generation. Some will hear her voice as more appropriate for Baroque sacred works, and while she has scored great success in that genre, she has also achieved acclaim in a wide range of operatic roles and has sung an eclectic choice of repertory in the concert hall.
