Chris Claremont, John Byrne, Terry Austin | CBR | Marvel Comics | ISBN 0871355825 | Pub Sep 1989 | 49 Pages | 35.74 MB

This paperback graphic novel published in September of 1089 reprints and (January to February 1981). The storyline deals with a dystopian alternate future (designated as Earth-811 in the Marvel Multiverse) in which certain key events happened differently. One of those future X-Men has gone into the past to try to prevent her future from becoming a reality. Features the first appearance of Rachel Summers, and sets the groundwork for the sequel "Days of Future Present" several years later. The storyline became very popular and it, together with the earlier "The Dark Phoenix Saga" to which it serves as an epilogue--both created by the writer/artist team of Chris Claremont and John Byrne--was largely responsible for the X-Men's meteoric rise in popularity. The first issue of this storyline was voted the 25th greatest Marvel Comic of all time by the fans in 2001. It is remarkable that such a short story (only 47 pages long minus covers) could become so significant. The "TPB" tag in the filename is actually a misnomer as the trade paperback (TPB ISBN 0785115609) was published later (June 7 2006) and collects , ( is the first actual issue of ; issues 1-141 being officially - 1st series or Volume 1) and (in the latter the artwork is handled by John Romita, Jr. & Bob McLeod). Highly recommended--in fact a must-have.
