Since his parents attempted to murder him, Archer has committed himself to vanquishing the evils of the world. Aram "the Other" ("Armstrong") born in 3266 BC, is an immortal reprobate with the strength of a battalion. Alix, or The Adventures of Alix, is a popular Franco-Belgian comics series drawn in the ligne claire style by one its masters, Jacques Martin. The stories revolve around a young Gallo-Roman man named Alix in the late Roman Republic. Although the series is renowned for its historical accuracy and stunning set detail, the hero has been known to wander into anachronistic situations up to two centuries out of his era. The stories unfold throughout the reaches of the Roman world, including the city of Rome, Gaul, the German frontier, Mesopotamia, Africa and Asia Minor. One voyage goes as far as China.

, written by Paul Tobin with art from Clayton Henry and Matthew Southworth, was originally announced as a new ongoing last July 2010 at Comic-Con International: San Diego, and starred Anya Corazon, the character originally known as Araña. It was released in November 2010 and promoted as a tie-in to the "Big Time" developments in Amazing Spider-Man (as if anyone would fail to notice the title banner on the cover of the first issue) at that time. Previous Spider-Girl series starred May Parker, the teen daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane in the "MC2" alternate timeline; since Anya Corazon has had healthy appearances in both Young Allies and the Nomad feature in Captain America, Marvel might have thought it better to introduce "big time" another character in its already burgeoning roster of teen superheroes, but focusing more on the mundane realities of a teenager's day-to-day existence. The down-to-earth slant drew critical praise and positive notices from women empowerment blogs but sadly the title could not generate enough sales and the solicitation for the eighth issue announced its end. All these aside, this accidental 8-issue limited series is fun, charming and a great heroic read that can be shared with the all ages scene quite nicely. All HQ Minutemen scans.

comic book series by Ty Templeton and Derec Aucoin was published to accompany the animated television series pf the same title. The animated series itself, consisting of 13 episodes, was based on the Marvel Comics superhero team The Avengers and originally premiered on October 30, 1999, produced by Avi Arad and distributed by 20th Century Fox Television. It was later canceled on February 26, 2000. The animated series features a team based on the roster for the 1984 The West Coast Avengers, composed of the Wasp, Wonder Man, Tigra, Hawkeye, and Scarlet Witch. The comics series lasted only seven issues, from November 1999 to June 2000 due to poor sales but not for lack of quality. The artwork for one, though admittedly cartoonish to reflect the animated series, is surprisingly prescient in its treatment, presaging current trends.
