Vampire

is a 12-issue (+ preview) limited series comic book adaptation of the novel , the first in the Anita Blake series of erotic fantasy novels by Laurell K. Hamilton, narrated by the title character, Anita Blake. These comic books were written by Laurell K. Hamilton herself. The first 6 issues with cover dates December 2006-March 2007 were published by Marvel in partnership with Dabel Brothers Productions. After a year-long hiatus, wherein Marvel amicably acquired Dabel's licenses, the series resumed monthly on March 2008 until its conclusion in August, 2008. The first issue sold out during its release date and the series proved to be very popular.

Issue #6 departs from the dual-story issues that comprised the initial arc, the title shifts locations, the writer (Snyder) shifts characters, and the artist shifts his style. Set in Nevada in 1935, as The Great Depression has settled onto the United States, this issue swings over to Las Vegas. Set during the time that the Hoover Dam was being built, Snyder brings in some new characters and returns a few others.
