"The Essential Van Morrison" is the 37-tracks, cross-label career-spanning anthology. All the hits & key album tracks. From THEM through to later collaborations with The Chieftains & Cliff Richard.

On this new release, Van Morrison and the guests selected and recorded some of his songs from the catalogue of 360 songs across his career. Deliberately steering away from his more well-known classics, Van enlisted some of the artists he most respects to perform these songs with him to re-craft and re-imagine them. The album was recorded in his home town of Belfast and London in the United Kingdom over the last year, using a variety of musicians and fresh arrangements.

"A Night in San Francisco" is a live album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, released in 1994. Guest artists were Candy Dulfer, John Lee Hooker, Junior Wells and Jimmy Witherspoon as well as Morrison's daughter, Shana Morrison. James Hunter and Brian Kennedy helped out with the vocals and Georgie Fame was also present. The June 2008 reissued and remastered version of the album contains a live take of the Morrison song "Cleaning Windows". "I'll Take Care of You/It's a Man's Man's Man's World" from this album was listed as one of the standout tracks from the six album reissue.

"How Long Has This Been Going On" is the twenty-fourth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, subtitles "with Georgie Fame and Friends". The album was recorded live (but without an audience) at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, London, England, on 3 May 1995, and features a number of jazz standards and a be-bop influenced rendition of Morrison's classic "Moondance".

"Common One" is the twelfth studio album by Northern Irish singer/songwriter Van Morrison, released in 1980. The album was recorded over a nine-day period at Super Bear Studios, near Nice, on the French Riviera. Its title comes from the 3/4 section of the song "Summertime in England", where Morrison sings the lyrics "Oh, my common one with the coat so old and the light in her head". Morrison has cited Common One as his favorite of his own albums.

It features Morrison’s trademark airy arrangements and mystical themes. Standouts include “River Of Time”, “Higher Than The World” and the title-track. It reached the Top Twenty-five in the U.K. This definitive outing is a magnificent blend of rock and Celtic melodies. Absolutely essential.

At Metacritic, which assigns a normalised rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 74 based on 10 reviews, which indicates "generally favorable reviews".
