DJ Paulão (Sao Paulo) compiles this great document on samba rock from the golden years of Brasilian music (1966-1978). This compilation gathers two influences of alternative Brazilian musical references - Samba Rock and Brazuca. The focus begins in the mid sixties through to the late seventies, from the decline of bossa nova until the explosion of the disco scene. The Samba Rock movement, as related to black urban culture, goes back to the origins of the DJ in Brazil, particularly in the São Paulo banlieue in the mid-fifties.

Brazil Classics 2: O Samba is a 1989 compilation CD from the Luaka Bop label. It consists of samba variations from Brazil, compiled by David Byrne of the Talking Heads.
