The Ventures are the most successful and influential instrumental group of all time, with worldwide record sales in excess of 110 million. The late 50s to the early 60s were the 'Golden Era' for R&R instrumentals, and as the first guitar driven instrumental group, their influence was immeasurable, providing the template for The Shadows and just about every other group who followed. This unique compilation comprises their entire 1962 record output, featuring five LPs 'Twist With The Ventures', 'The Ventures Twist Party Vol. 2', 'Mashed Potatoes And Gravy', 'Going To The Ventures Dance Party' and 'The Ventures Play Telstar And The Lovely Bull' and a pair of non-album singles. Also includes a rare radio promo spot for their 'Twist Party Vol 2' LP. They still enjoy enormous international popularity, notably in Japan & the Far East, where they continue to tour and record. Their current line-up includes the groups founder Don Wilson and long time member Nokie Edwards, this duo were The Ventures' lead guitarists during their glory years.

Originally issued on Dolton, this instrumental classic was reissued briefly in 1990 on CD by EMI. The Ventures have a blast with unique covers of secular Christmas songs: each instrumental borrows riffs from popular mid-'60s hits, incorporating them into their twangy guitar yule melodies.

The Very Best Of The Ventures is a 2CD compilation released in 2008 by The Ventures. This features some of their hit songs as well as a number of their non-hit songs. This was released by EMI Gold.

Initially calling themselves "The Versatones", they played small clubs and beer bars in the Northwest. In 1959 they recorded and released two vocal tunes, "The Real McCoy" and "Cookies and Coke", but neither record charted. They met and recruited Nokie Edwards as bass player, and recorded "Walk Don't Run" with Bogle on lead, Wilson on rhythm, Edwards on bass, and Skip Moore on drums. They approached several record companies, none of whom showed any interest in signing them. With support from Don Wilson's mother, Josie, they started their own record company, "Blue Horizon Records". They self-produced the 45 RPM single of "Walk Don't Run" and promoted it themselves.
