Trio Globo has crafted a totally original voice in contemporary acoustic jazz. With roots in jazz, classical and sacred music, rhythmic influences derived from travels in six continents, and a combustible spontaneity, cellist Eugene Friesen (Paul Winter Consort), pianist and master harmonica player Howard Levy (Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Kenny Loggins, Paquito d’Rivera), and percussionist Glen Velez (Paul Winter Consort, Steve Reich) epitomize the quintessential group for the 21st century. They are true originals re-inventing their instruments in new music both personal and global.

This is another great album from Jazztone Society Records, featuring Tony Parenti's All-Stars… and what a line-up! Tony, of course, hailing from out of the New Orleans jazz scene, sparkles on clarinet; Henry "Red" Allen, another prominent New Orleans jazz musician, shows why he was considered one of the best on Trumpet; Tyree Glenn, a Texan, worked wih some of the greatest bands, including Cab Calloway, Ellington, and Benny Carter - he growls a fine, mean trombone.
Two members of our rhythm section are familiar to all: Milt Hinton, the busiest, the happiest and the most bass player in the business, and drummer George Wettling, who not only was in on the beginnings of Chicago style jazz, but was also a vital part of the great swing surge as a member of the Tommy Dorsey…

Hungarian auteur Bela Tarr's seven-hour, black-and-white epic based on the novel by Laszlo Karsznahorkai took two years to film. The complex story follows a group of people living in a dilapidated village in post-communist Hungary. Tarr examines their standstill lives through a series of episodes told from each person's point-of-view. Susan Sontag wrote, "Devastating, enthralling for every minute of its seven hours. I'd be glad to see it every year for the rest of my life." Winner of the Caligari Film Prize and the Ecumenical Jury Prize Special Mention at the 1994 Berlin International Film Festival.
