Ferdinand Ries may still be known almost exclusively to the musical world as Beethoven’s friend, pupil, secretary and first biographer, but Brilliant Classics have done much to broaden our understanding of this significant figure in the Vienna of the early 19th century with albums of his own compositions, notably his sonatas for violin, cello and flute and his Piano Quintet.

March To The Black Holocaust is a 1995 split CD between French black metal bands Vlad Tepes and Belketre. Originally released as cassette projects, these were released together on compact disc by Embassy Productions. Despite the title, the music and the groups are dark in nature and are not racists, as the liner notes present on the back of the CD cover.

Vlad Tepes, otherwise known as Vlad the Impaler and Dracula, fights the Ottoman Turks on the battlefield and the Hungarian Boyars in his court.

Born as a one-off musical extravaganza by two Norwegian metal and hard rock giants, Trond Holter (ex-Wig Wam, JORN) and singer Jorn Lande, the Dracula Rock Opera has now morphed into a regular musical project with guitarist, producer, and songwriter Trond Holter on the helm.
