Voice Bunny

As lockdown approached in 2020, Chicago-based singer Lili Trifilio was wrapping up a tour in support of Beach Bunny's debut album, Honeymoon. Suddenly, she found herself back at her parents' house, coping with her new reality. To deal, she retreated into sci-fi stories and her always-active imagination. She envisioned new places to travel in her mind, thus dreaming up big, bombastic pop sounds to construct Beach Bunny's highly anticipated sophomore album, Emotional Creature.

Toronto's Bunny blend rock elements with dream-pop synths in an ethereal collage of hooks and melody on their self-titled debut album, out August 18th through Tin Angel Records. The album draws from its influences, most prominently channeling the Beach Boys (Pet Sounds) in its production approach and early Ween (Chocolate & Cheese) in its flair with an air of Nilsson for extra flavour.

'Super Dub Disco Style' features the dub mixing skills of two of the most multi-talented engineers to come out of Jamaica. Pat Kelly is mainly known for the haunting singing voice that powered dozens of hit songs, and nearly had him signed to The Beatles' Apple label. And Stanley 'Barnabas' Bryan is also a deejay, percussionist and drummer, who played on big tunes for Sugar Minott, Junior Reid and Tenor Saw. Both fell under the spell of King Tubby's seismic experiments with dub music in the early 1970's, Pat Kelly as an engineer at Tubby's own studio in Waterhouse, and Barnabas at the larger Channel One Studio, run by Jo Jo and Ernest Hoo Kim.

The Bunny Tylers is a duo from Lebanon whose core consists of two prominent musicians from the Beirut scene: singer-songwriter and guitarist Charbel Haber (Scrambled Eggs, Malayeen, Johnny Kafta’s Anti-Vegetarian Orchestra) and multi-instrumentalist and producer Fadi Tabbal (The Incompetents, Under the Carpet, Safar).
