Raymond Scott (born Harry Warnow; September 10, 1908 – February 8, 1994)[1] was an American composer, band leader, pianist, record producer, and inventor of electronic instruments.

Né en 1948 à Coblence en Allemagne, il commence le piano dès l'âge de cinq ans. Sa formation est celle de la plupart des musiciens classiques se finalisant par un premier prix de piano en 1966 et de musique de chambre en 1967 au conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, auxquels s'ajoutent des études approfondies en écriture musicale. En 1969, il rencontre Michel Magne et devient son orchestrateur.
