Both concerts are great, in terms of both sound and performance. The first concert from 71 is especially interesting, forming a kinda bridge between the 'rock' sound of BB and JJ and the funk mesh of On the Corner and beyond. The version of Directions, which opens the show, is stunning. As far as I know, this is the only available recording of this particular band. The second concert is from the Dark Magus period. My only quibble is its length. If you like 70s Miles, you will love this.

Brand X was a jazz fusion band active 1975–1980 and 1992–1999. Noted members included Phil Collins (drums), Percy Jones (bass), John Goodsall (guitar) and Robin Lumley (keyboards). In 1992, original members Goodsall and Jones formed a new trio version of Brand X, with drummer Frank Katz.
