Veteran tenor Flip Phillips is heard leading a jam session during what was dubbed the 1986 Floating Jazz Festival since the music took place on the S.S. Norway somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. Phillips and his fellow tenors Buddy Tate, Al Cohn and Scott Hamilton (along with pianst John Bunch, guitarist Chris Flory, bassist Major Holley and drummer Chuck Riggs) clearly had a good time stretching out on the five pieces (which all sport fairly basic chord changes); fluegelhornist Clark Terry dropped by and joins in on three of the pieces. Unfortunately the liner notes do not tell who solos when but veteran collectors should be able to tell the tenors apart. The only minus to this CD is a surprisingly boring monologue by Phillips (one of Chiaroscuro's few unsuccessful "Jazzspeaks") at the conclusion of this disc. However his nine minutes of talking is preceded by 64 minutes of hot jamming, making this CD easily recommended to fans of Jazz at the Philharmonic and straightahead jazz.

Among the songs performed by the iconic group are 'Peaceful Easy Feeling', 'Witchy Woman' and 'Certain Kind of Fool'. With five number one singles, fourteen Top 40 hits, and four number one albums, The Eagles were among the most successful recording artists of the 1970s. At the end of the 20th century, two of those albums Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) and Hotel California ranked among the ten best-selling albums ever, and the popularity of 2007's Long Road Out of Eden proved the Eagles' staying power in the new millenium.

The Elements Of King Crimson is a special limited edition 'tour box' created exclusively for sale at King Crimson's concerts and via the band's official online outlets. The set contains a 24 page tour booklet and two CDs containing extracts, elements from studio recordings, alternate takes, live tracks, rehearsals and finished recordings from 1969 - 2014 (much of it previously unreleased on CD).

DYNAMIC EARLY 1970 BROADCAST FROM PETER GREEN & CO Fleetwood Mac s Autumn & Winter tour of 1969/1970, moved from Europe to the US on 19th November 69, and by 21st they were performing in New York at the Irving Meadows venue, supported by King Crimson. Mac went on to play several more dates in the Big Apple, including a splendid set at the Fillmore East, supporting Joe Cocker, on November 21st. The band then spent the remainder of the year performing in cities across the USA, and by New Year s Eve they were in Chicago, for a show the Kinetic Playground. By early January 1970, Messrs Green, Fleetwood, Kirwin and Spencer were on the West Coast and their first gig of the New Year took place at Bill Graham s Fillmore West on the 4th. The group played a stunning show, mixing Green and Kirwin originals with blues and rock n roll classics, and the whole concert was recorded for live FM broadcast across the city.
