"Here They Go Again" is the first album released by the English rock band The Company of Snakes. It is compiled of live recordings from concerts at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany (first disc) and in the Norwegian city of Trondheim (second disc). Because of the musical background of band leaders Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody, almost the entire set list consists of old Whitesnake songs. The album title "Here They Go Again" also refers to a famous Whitesnake song "Here I Go Again" (of which there has been two versions; one released on Saints and Sinners and one released on Whitesnake. The Company of Snakes focuses more on the original version). Of this album, "Kinda Wish You Would" is the only song that made it onto T.C.O.S.'s (only) studio album Burst The Bubble.
A cosmopolitan hard rock unit built around a shared love for classic rock and blues, Inglorious was founded in 2014 by English vocalist Nathan James (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Uli John Roth), rhythm guitarist Wil Taylor, Swedish lead guitarist Andreas Eriksson, bassist Colin Parkinson, and drummer Phil Beaver. Inspired by bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Bad Company, Aerosmith, and the Rolling Stones, the newly minted quintet wasted little time getting down to business, releasing a well-received YouTube video of their cover of "Burn" by Deep Purple. In 2015, the band inked a deal with Frontiers and headed to a studio in Buckinghamshire to track their eponymous debut LP, which arrived in early 2016…
Live in America! is the first live album by Jørn Lande. It was released under his stage name Jorn on September 24, 2007.Jorn's solo band's line-up is the same as in the last albums The Duke and Unlocking the Past, with the exception of bassist Morty Black who was replaced by Pagan's Mind bassist Steinar Krokmo (who contributed to Jorn's solo records in the past). The album was recorded on the first show Jorn ever did in the US, on 16 September 2006 where he headlined the Progpower USA festival in Atlanta. The album features four live cover songs: "Are You Ready" and "Cold Sweat" by Thin Lizzy, "Straight Through the Heart" by Ronnie James Dio and "Perfect Strangers" by Deep Purple, as well as medley of covers to five Whitesnake songs, including the hit single "Here I Go Again".
The resurgence in popularity of British hard rock during the early and mid eighties had been fuelled predominantly by the emergence of the NWOBHM, a musical genre that mainly embraced rough hewn riff combos. However, a secondary more melodic movement was also in full swing spearheaded by musicians influenced by the enormous success of US based acts such as Journey, Foreigner and Loverboy. Virginia Wolf were, it must be said, very much at the cutting edge of the counter offensive, weighing in as one of the UK's most promising new groups. Their debut album is regarded as a milestone in melodic hard rock, relying heavily on gifted song writing, together with the stunning vocals of Chris Ousey, a man with one of the most identifiable voices in British rock. It is a simply breathtaking offering.
In 2000, David Coverdale was officially a full-time solo artist, but it wasn't like the former Whitesnake and Deep Purple vocalist had never recorded an album by himself – his first solo project, Northwinds, came out in the late '70s. Although not groundbreaking, 2000's Into the Light is a decent solo effort that should please those who admire his '70s and '80s output. In fact, this isn't a radical departure from the British singer's work with Whitesnake and Deep Purple. Instead of attempting to be relevant to the alternate rock scene of 2000, Coverdale sticks with the type of commercial hard rock, arena rock, and power ballads that he is best known for.
