Songs from or inspired by the 1973 film The Wicker Man. Recorded straight off the back of our sessions for 'Fukushima Surfer Boys' during mid-2017 through to early 2019, alongside the as-yet-unreleased new material. This EP is an exercise in limiting ourselves to pre-determined song structures/melodies and using this as an aid to break out of the confines of our Guitar/Bass/Keys/Drums set up which we can comfortably compose and make music on. Two version of Hammer & Spike are included in this release to highlight this process, Version 1 is the "acoustic/electric/electronic" groundwork that we laid, with Version 2 being the result of changes in members instruments, or being asked to compose away from their preferred set up.

Director Robin Hardy's reimagining of his eerie 1973 film, The Wicker Man. Young Christians Beth and Steve, a gospel singer and her cowboy boyfriend, leave Texas to preach door-to-door in Scotland. When, after initial abuse, they are welcomed with joy and elation to Tressock, the border fiefdom of Sir Lachlan Morrison, they assume their hosts simply want to hear more about Jesus. How innocent and wrong they are.
