The Greek muses incarnate themselves on Earth to inspire men to achieve. One of them, incarnated as a girl named Kira, encounters an artist named Sonny Malone. With the help of Danny McGuire, a man Kira had inspired forty years earlier, Sonny builds a huge disco roller rink. Following on the heels of Olivia Newton-John's enormous success in Grease, this was meant to launch her career as a solo star. Despite the failure of the film at the box office, the soundtrack was an enormous success.

Bobby has had trouble with French at school and so his rich parents hire a winsome 30-year-old tutor to help him with the first subject. The father is not exactly subtle about his interest in the tutor, but the woman prefers his much more sensitive son. Matt Lattanzi plays the lucky young man in this film. For those of you who may have forgotten about this guy, he was kind of the Kevin Federline of the 1980s. He was a back-up dancer on the set of Xanadu who somehow won Olivia Newton-John over.
