La-La Land Records, MGM en the Michael Kamen Estate hebben deze week Michael Kamen's score voor Road House uitgebracht. Dit ter ere van de 30ste verjaardag van deze film. Patrick Swayze en Sam Elliott schitterde als 2 buitenwippers in deze actie film. De vrouwelijke hoofdrol werd vertolkt door Kelly Lynch, de regie lag in handen van Rowdy Herrington. Muziek staat centraal in Road House. In de bar, The Double Deuce, was the Jeff Healey band de vaste muziekband. Voor de ondersteunde score werd beroep gedaan op componist Michael Kamen (Lethal Weapon 1-4, Die Hard 1-3, The Last Boy Scout). Kamen's actiemuziek spat tijdens de vechtscenes van het scherm af. Deze nieuwe versie bevat de ontbrekende tracks die op de vorige release niet aanwezig waren. De soundtrack is expanded en remastered, geproduceerd door Neil S. Bulk in samenwerking met het Michael Kamen Estate. Doug Schwartz zorgde voor de mastering In totaal zullen er 2000 exemplaren verkrijgbaar zijn.

La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1990 horror sequel Child’s Play 2 directed by John Lafia and starring Alex Vincent, Jenny Agutter and Christine Elise. The album features the film’s original music composed by Graeme Revell (The Crow, Tomb Raider, Dead Calm, Daredevil, The Siege, Pitch Black). Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Memoirs of an Invisible Man) conducted and orchestrated the score. The CD, which is limited to 3,000 copies, marks the sixth title in the Universal Pictures Film Music Heritage Collection.

Composer Justin Hurwitz became best known for his work with college friend and film director Damien Chazelle, most notably for the La La Land score. Raised in California, Hurwitz came from an artistic family – his sister played the violin and both his parents worked in the arts, his mother was a ballerina and his father a writer. He began playing the piano at the age of six. By the time he was ten, he was composing his own music. In the eighth grade, he and his family moved to Fox Point, Wisconsin where he attended Nicolet High School. While there, the budding composer also studied at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee with pianist Stefanie Jacob. After graduating in 2003, he continued his education at Harvard University.
