30 Years Later, Ferris Bueller's Day Off Soundtrack to See Official Release. 30 years after the film’s release, the soundtrack to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is getting an official release, too. On Sept. 13, La-La Land Records will make the movie’s soundtrack available for the first time ever. The release is limited to only 5000 copies. It will feature songs such as Yello’s “Oh Yeah,” “Danke Schoen” by Wayne Newton, and the marching band version of “Twist and Shout” from the famous parade scene.In addition to the songs used in the movie, the soundtrack will include Ira Newborn’s iconic original score.

Score composer Bear McCreary was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on February 17, 1979, the son of the writer Laura Kalpakian. He obtained degrees in composition and recording arts from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California and became a protégé of film composer Elmer Bernstein, for whom he reconstructed and reorchestrated the score for the 1963 film Kings of the Sun, resulting in a new recording of the music.

Brian de Palma’s The Untouchables was released to considerable acclaim in 1987 and is probably his most well-regarded film. With rising star Kevin Costner perfect as Eliot Ness, Robert de Niro hamming it up to high heaven as Al Capone and an Oscar-winning Sean Connery providing brilliant support as Jim Malone, the film is a great piece of entertainment. De Palma has always believed that music has a very important role to play in a film and as such, the scores for his films tend to be striking and very much at the forefront; and he’s worked with some wonderful composers including Bernard Herrmann, Pino Donaggio, John Williams, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Danny Elfman and others. On three occasions, he worked with the great Ennio Morricone.
