Jump In! is the soundtrack to the 2007 movie which aired on the Disney Channel cable network. Some of the stars in the film have songs on the CD, including Corbin Bleu and Keke Palmer, plus other artists of the Disney roster, including T-Squad, Jupiter Rising, Lil' Josh, Jordan Pruitt, and many more. This featured the hit songs "Push It To The Limit" by Corbin Bleu and "Vertical" by T-Squad. The CD was released on 9 January, 2007.

1999 must have been deemed a banner year for the blues by someone at Capitol Records, issuing a passel of eclectic blues compilations in a month-long period on the EMD/Blue Note label. Jump Blue is a scholarly homage to the jump subgenre, characterized by sped-up high-hat tempos and lots of tight, fast horn work. This record jumps, too, all over the blues map of time and location, encompassing the vocal stylings of Dave Bartholomew ("Jump Children"), Helen Humes ("He May Be Your Man"), Peppermint Harris ("I Got Loaded," covered in 1984 by Los Lobos) and T-Bone Walker ("Teenage Baby"). Possibly the most eyebrow-raising cover: "A Fool in Love" by Ike and Tina Turner, recorded at the peak of their scorching funk career, certainly not known at the time for their contributions as ministers of jump blues. Other cool keepers from this disc series (which include a hearty helping of jazz and blues/jazz synthetics): Afro Blue, Blue Bacharach, Rhapsody in Blue, Blue So Funk and a half-dozen more.

Tina Bednoff & the Cocktailers is a quaint quartet from the shady red light district of Helsinki, delivering rockin’ rhythm and blues that you can dance your toenails off to. With all due respect, don't you just sometimes get tired of the endless radio playlists and the monotonic, compressed sound barrier of today’s music and artists? Have no fear, Tina and the guys are here! The sound is firmly based on 1940's & 1950's rhythm and blues, but the mission is not to replicate the hits of the past, not by a long shot.

When Instant Funk's debut album, Get Down With the Philly Jump, came out in 1976, those who heard the LP agreed that the Philadelphians had a very recognizable and distinctive sound. Instant Funk had one foot in the sophisticated Philly soul/disco sound and the other in the gritty, down-and-dirty funk of pre-J.T. Taylor Kool & the Gang - put those things together, and you have a group that was certainly unique and risk-taking. Although Bunny Sigler produced Get Down with the Philly Jump at Philly's famous Sigma Sound Studios, this LP isn't as strong as Instant Funk's subsequent releases would be. The album is uneven, and it doesn't contain a blockbuster hit like "I Got My Mind Made Up."
